RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

I was one of 18 directors chosen to make a film for the Flywheel Film Festival.  Flywheel is a consortium of primarily advertising people, the 18 shorts go together to form a loop.   As per the festival rules, films can run between 1- 4 minutes, must be made for no money, and must start with an image that can be transitioned to from the prior film's end. Mine had to end with 'desperation', the theme/endpoint I drew from a hat. I wrote, produced, directed and edited the film.

Canon - ‘Creative Office’
Walked in to the location and knew exactly how I wanted to shoot it, and thus, pushed strongly for its approval with the client and production company, despite it being on the edge of our budget.  Upon shooting, the lead actress, Melinda Wade, made it easy.  She walks through the location like she owns it, without any showiness.  Right on.  Nice work by DP Glen Mordeci on all the Canon stuff.

Seagram’s - ‘Smooth’
Filmed at a Seagram’s event at a club in NYC, this shoot was by nature semi-organized mayhem  -- we put our cast right in the middle of the fray.  You plan what you can and then live by your wits and experience.   Was a reunion between me and my old Aaton that I’d shot several hundred thousand feet of film with before selling.  Rented it for this shoot -- miss that cam!  Thought we did very well here for Seagram’s on a tight budget.

Production Company:  House Films/Argo Cinematic, LLC

The Movie Channel - ‘Boom’
Good copy/concepts make good spots -- shocking.  A chance to do some lower-key comedy, which is closer to my innate sense of humor than some of the sit-com type stuff I’ve done.  One of a series of promos for TMC.  Shot and co-directed with the agency creatives.

Production Company: Production 920
